Every year beginning about October the "snowbird" season begins in Gold Canyon Arizona. A migration begins of approximately 30,000 "seasonal visitors" arriving to the area. As predictable as a migrating duck, (and called "snow birds" with affection) these people arrive and enjoy all the beauty of the Superstition Mountains, the wonderful warm weather and seasonal activities. Businesses enjoy a burst of additional activity. Some businesses notice a particular spike in certain activities. Local restaurant owners report that "snowbirds love to go out for breakfast". Many of these "snowbirds" have homes in the local area, but in the hot summer months they migrate back to their northern homes, returning to their Arizona home in the fall and staying through spring to enjoy the weather, while the folks back home are shoveling snow and braving the cold. Welcome back "snowbirds"!
