Gold Canyon D.O.G.

Gold Canyon D.O.G. - (Dog Owners Group) was created on August 16, 2003 by a small group of dog owners sharing the vision of an off-leash park in the Gold Canyon, Arizona area. The purpose of this group is to "Promote Responsible Dog Ownership". The organization does not yet own a dog park, but provides its members with opportunities for educational activities and events for owners and their dogs so they can interact.

The D.O.G. website is a resource for information on doggie related events and information in the Gold Canyon community, and for updates on their progress toward making a future off-leash dog park KRAMER'S RUN a reality. A well-run dog park is greatly dependent on the continuing presence of such groups. 

KRAMER was the beloved Golden Retriever of Marta St. James and Curt Fonger who died from complications of Valley Fever on January 15, 2005. They donated his body for research to the Valley Fever Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Arizona. Marta and Curt established the Kramer's Valley Fever Fund in his memory. ALL proceeds from fundraising events go to the University of Arizona Veterinary Laboratory for further research of the illness.
